01Taught by people who teach in Britain
William, our Honorary Lecturer, is based in London and lectures in English at CBS International Business School, with an MSc in Applied Linguistics from Oxford. Kat is in Oxford, a DPhil candidate in Education and a published first author on how children acquire language. Your child is not taught from a script.
02Writing, speaking, thinking
We teach three things: writing like a scholar, speaking like a leader, and thinking independently. Eight of our secondary entrants were shortlisted for the John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize, roughly double the shortlist rate across more than a hundred thousand entries. Others went from never raising a hand to the TED-Ed Student Talks stage.
03A genuinely international room
A London child sits with peers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Shanghai, arguing the same motion. That is an education a London tutor working one to one cannot give, and it is the part parents tell us their children remember.
Questions from London parents
When do classes run for London students?+
Hong Kong is seven to eight hours ahead of London, so weekday evening classes in Hong Kong fall during the London school day. London families join our Saturday and Sunday groups, which run at a comfortable London morning or early afternoon. Your child’s exact group is set after the interview.
Is this exam preparation for 11+, GCSE or A level?+
No. We are closer to a university tutorial than to a crammer: writing, discussion and public speaking, taught so a child can think for themselves. Exam results tend to follow, but they are not why we teach, and we will say so plainly if drilling is what you are looking for.
My child reads well but will not speak up in class. Is this for them?+
That is the child we teach best. In a group of three to seven with discussion at the centre of every lesson, there is nowhere to hide and no pressure to perform. Quieter children often become the first to speak.
How do we start?+
Book a free online interview through the booking box on our home page. Nothing to prepare. Your child comes for a thirty-minute conversation, and we tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
